Popup Tent vs High Peak Frame Tent: Which Do You Need for Your DFW Event?

Popup tent vs Frame Tent: This is the question we answer almost every day.
Popup tents and high-peak frame tents look similar in photos, but they serve very different purposes.
Here's exactly when to use each one.

Comparing a Popup Tent vs Frame Tent Setup

A popup tent, also called a canopy tent, is a lightweight, collapsible shelter that springs open in minutes. It's supported by four corner legs with no internal frame or centre poles. Our 10x10 popup is the most versatile tent in our inventory.

The setup features two computer monitors, a backdrop, and a feather flag, all branded with the Abundance Rentals logo, which features a tent icon and the text "ABUNDANCE RENTALS -TENTS & EVENTS-". A welcome desk with a TV displaying "DFW MAJOR EVENT CENTER" and "WELCOME" is between the monitors. In the foreground, a rental contract and brochure with the same logo are on the table. What Is a High Peak Frame Tent?

A high peak frame tent is a freestanding professional event tent with a distinctive peaked roof that rises dramatically in the center. It's supported by a perimeter frame with no center poles, every square foot of floor space is usable. Our 20x20 and 20x40 high peak frame tents are our most popular rentals.

When NOT to Use a High Peak Frame Tent

Choosing a Popup Tent vs Frame Tent for DFW Weather

Absolutely, and many of our customers do. A common setup is a 20x40 high peak tent as the main dining area with one or two 10x10 popup tents positioned nearby for a separate food station, drinks bar, or games area. This gives you the elegance of the frame tent for your main event space and the flexibility of popup tents for functional areas.

What About the 10x20 and 10x30 Tents?

Our 10x20 and 10x30 tents are standard frame tents, not high peak, not popup. They're a step up from a popup in capacity and weather resistance, and a step down from a high peak in height and visual impact. They're the right choice for smaller gatherings of 20–35 people where a full 20x20 high peak tent would be more tent than the backyard needs.
